The frustration station.

New uses for everyday objects

The frustration station is a playfull approach to solve a need. We used a everyday object and gave it a new purpose by adding technology (and a bit of humour) to answer a simple question: how do we deal with frustrations?

How it works: The box is equipped with light strips, led lights, sensors and speakers. You activate these by screaming as loud as you can, the sound sensor will register your frustrations and for ca 30 seconds you will be surrounded by sparkling stars and planets, calming music and light. It's now time to enjoy a few moments and connect with your senses. Within just a couple of seconds you’ll be blissfully relaxed. After 30 seconds the box goes back to idle mode and you're ready for the real world outside the box again.

Frustration Station is a way to ease mental stress and reorganize the brain, and take a much deserved break. Is just a normal box with magic on the inside.

The frustation was a reason to play around with technolagy and see how far we can take an idea and to learn new ways to tackle a problem. Once the prototype was designed and programmed we tested our design to see how it would work outside our imagination and the response was positive. We learned that everyone needs to scream once in a while.

I'm Ali Rodsari, a Gothenburg native currently living and working in Stockholm.

Im a two time Hyper island Alumni. Yes, Hyper somehow managed to lure me back twice (Mobile Creative Program with focus on UX and UI & the Interactive Art Director program) I'm currently working at Fröjd Agancy as a Digital Art Director

My work and school experiences lies predominately within art direction and user experience, which relates to my passion for conceptual design. I thrive in the process of starting from zero with scattered research - moving into creative ideation and come out with something meaningful and tangible, sometimes a bit crazy. I aspire to understand my target and to evoke emotions. Also I like tv-series and cute animals.
